Getting to Know Mystery Skulls Before a Live Show

Mystery Skulls is the stage name of Luis Dubuc, an American musician known for a blend of electronic pop, funk and disco influences, with falsetto vocals over bright synth lines. The project drew wide attention through its animated music videos, whose ghostly, cartoon-style characters built a devoted following online. That fanbase is a big part of why a Mystery Skulls concert often feels like a gathering of a community as much as a performance.

Shows have taken place at mid-sized venues such as the Fonda Theatre in Hollywood and House of Blues-style rooms in Southern California, including Anaheim. These spaces are intimate enough that the audience can see the performer clearly, yet big enough to carry a full electronic sound. A news item about a past date is useful background, but the date itself has passed, so anyone hoping to attend should look at the artist's official channels and the venue's own website for current listings.

Practical tips for concertgoers

• Buy from official sources. Resale and look-alike ticket sites can charge steep markups or sell invalid tickets. Start with the venue's box office or the artist's linked ticket partner.
• Check venue policies. Bag size limits, age restrictions and re-entry rules vary from venue to venue and are usually posted online.
• Plan transport early. Parking near Hollywood venues is limited, so rideshare or public transit is often easier.
• Protect your hearing. Electronic sets are loud, and simple earplugs make a long night more comfortable.

Music as common ground

Concerts bring together people of many backgrounds, beliefs and ages who share one experience for an evening. That everyday kind of coexistence reflects values this desk cares about: respect for the person next to you, courtesy in a crowded space, and curiosity about others. You can read more on those themes in our Journal, or learn about the work behind this site on the About page.
